Time was ticking for our initial test glazes to be thought about, measured, mixed, applied, recorded and fired.
A gaggle of us descended on the glaze room all at once..... right, ok...how should we do this....
As we were short of time and equipment, we pooled our resources and brain power and decided to make the same base glaze to share. To this we then added our own colour oxide.
There was a risk that if one glaze went wrong, they would all go wrong - this was a risk we were willing to take and perhaps learn from.
I already know that I've made a mistake of adding too much copper oxide to my base glaze. Hope it doesn't blow up or stick to the base of kiln !?!
