David's advice to build multiple pieces when coiling was invaluable. Because of the time the clay takes to get to gouging consistency, it seemed only wise to coil 2 or 3 at the same time. Hence I have ended up with 3 spheres. The first sphere was decorated with just 3 'water sources'. The small hole at the top being the starting point. In my mind, the water starts off as a gentle trickle, gathering speed and volume, thereby eroding more of the fellside. The stream/beck then settles out as it travels down the valley bottom and out to the estuary.
