Having never been to Fairfield Mill Gallery before I was pleasantly surprised to find that there was a ceramic exhibition on. I wandered around the rabbit warren of rooms which had all sorts of work on show from jewellery, textiles, glass, paintings and a display showing the history of the mill.
The moment I entered the ceramic exhibition I was drawn to an artist whose work obviously was inspired by the lakeland fells - Nigel Edmondson. Just the sort of potter I need to hook up with.
I made a note of him and continued my tour.
A ceramicist called Penny Hunt was showing some vessels which reminded me of Anne's pots (2nd year)
In the gallery I spotted work by a former tutor Bob Park. His distinctive glazing is very familiar as I have pots in my house using the very same glaze - which I quite like.
